Shangla is a district in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan that contains two Tehsil Alpuri and Puran. Alpuari Town is the district headquarters of the district. And two main tehsils/Sub divisions. Tehsil Puran and Tehsil Alpuari Three subtehsils : tehsil Besham, tehsil Chakesar, tehsil Martung.Tehsil Hq of Puran is situated in Aloch. Shangla has the lowest Human Development Index in the province. Shangla, previously a subdivision of Swat district, was upgraded to the status of a district on July 1, 1995[1] by the then Chief Minister Aftab Khan Sherpao.
1. ALPUARI: is the District HQ of Shangla. Hafizi Alpuari a great poet Mazar is near Alpurai.
2. PURAN : is the Tehsil/Sub Divison of Shangla. Aloch is the Tehsil Hq & Commercail place of Puran & Shangla. Tehsil Puran boundries meet to Bunier, Swat and kaladakha.
3. Besham: is the Sub-Tehsil of Alpuari Teshil of Distrcit Shangla. Besham is a big commerial palce of Shangla. Beshams boundries meet to Koistan & Hazra.
4. Chakesar: is the Sub-Tehsil of Alpuari Tehsil of Distrcit Shangla.
4. Martung: is the Sub-Tehsil of Puran Tehsil of Distrcit Shangla. Martung is famous for Hakim sb.
